A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.  He painted a sign advertising the pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard.
As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.
Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."
"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."
The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.  "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"
 "Sure," said the farmer.
And with that he let out a whistle, "Here,Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.
The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.  As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared; this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid.  Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup
began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up.
"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.
The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."
With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.
Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands."
The world is full of people who need someone who understands.  Jesus said, " if you are ashamed of me," I will be ashamed of you before my Father."
Not ashamed? Pass this on . . . only if you mean it.
Yes, I do Love God. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and everyday.  Without Him, I will be nothing.  Without Him, I am nothing but with Him I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. Phil
4:13

This is the simplest test . . .if you Love God, and are not ashamed of all the
marvelous things he has done for you, send this to ten people.

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave a footprints in your heart.  Friendship is a knot tied by an Angel's hand.

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck.  One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you. I have been able to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots, but it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them.

Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Thank you to all my crackpot friends.

Tater People

  • Some people never seem motivated to participate, but are just content to watch while others do the work.  They are called "Speck Taters."

  • Some people never do anything to help, but are gifted at finding fault with the way others do the work.  They are called "Comment Taters."

  • Some people are very bossy and like to tell others what to do, but don't want to soil their own hands.  They are called "Dick Taters."

  • Some people are always looking to cause problems by asking others to agree with them. It is too hot or too cold, too sour or too sweet.  They are called "Agie Taters."

  • There are those who say they will help, but somehow just never get around to actually doing the promised help.  They are called "Hezzie Taters."

  • Some people can put up a front and pretend to be someone they are not.  They are called "Emma Taters."

  • Then there are those who love others and do what they say they will. They are always prepared to stop whatever they are doing and lend a helping hand. They bring real sunshine into the lives of others.  They are called "Sweet Taters."

Are you a Sweet Tater?
